Léman Manhattan Security Officer

Main Purpose of the Role:

Enforce procedural rules and regulations. Ensure the personal safety of staff, visitors, and property. Maintain security and safety for assigned areas. Maintain working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Open/Close the facilities and reports security and general maintenance problems to the proper authorities.
• Working knowledge of Raptor Systems is a plus to ensure security at our facilities.
• Maintains security and safety for the assigned area by checking accepts for visitors to our school.
• Reports daily through e-mails morning or evening conditions that you are present at your post.
• Reports daily through whats app and security forms working status for doors, cameras and elevators and areas of responsibility.
• Reports to manager and Executes emergency action plan if elevators are not working soliciting freight use from the building.
• Maintains video surveillance and reports suspicious activity to management as well in cameras report log.
• Responsible for monitoring that pools have a trainer plus lifeguard available in order to allow swimming.
• Responsible for filing incident reports in case of accidents.
• Maintains working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements.
• May operate and monitor security control panels, alarms, and related security equipment to provide area and visitor surveillance. (S95 Requirement /FDNY).
• Responsible for having an understanding of procedures for any type of emergency and Raptor communication.
• Responds to and investigates situations reported. Calls Police or other authorities to investigate suspicious activities or security violations that require intervention.
• Responsible for notifying the Leman Facilities director as well 25 Broadway Directors of any calls made to Police and FDNY.
• Check vehicles in private parking lots for authorized parking are there with consent by the Facilities Director.
• Checks ID cards of persons entering the facility. Refuses to admit persons who cannot show either proper authorization or cause for being admitted. Provides information and directions. Explains rules and regulations.
• Make sure that rental visitors are signed in/out daily.
• Responsible for Lost-And-Found.
• Maintains logs and records of occurrences, completes necessary paperwork, and may use computer terminals to input and retrieve data.
• Responsible for monitoring our lobbies are clean and free of tripped hazards.
• Responsible for requesting carpets on raining days and removal of these when not needed.
• Responsible for closing buildings, making sure nobody is left behind and pool areas, offices, gym, cafeteria, ballrooms are left clean and in working order for the next day and filling the closing report.
