Our client, a family-owned business that has been providing trusted commercial and residential security solutions throughout southeastern Wisconsin for 50+ years is seeking a Locksmith. We are seeking a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys troubleshooting, working with their hands, and learning new skills. Previous locksmith experience is not required. Candidates with backgrounds in maintenance, mechanical repair, electrical work, HVAC, building maintenance, field service, or other skilled trades are encouraged to apply. We provide hands-on training to help you develop into a skilled locksmith and security professional. As your skills grow, you'll have the opportunity to advance into a field service role supporting commercial and residential customers throughout the Milwaukee area. The role is a contract-to-hire with access to health insurance and a 401k, with company match upon permanent conversion.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, adjust, and maintain commercial and residential locks, door hardware, and security devices.
• Rekey locks, duplicate keys, and assist with master key systems.
• Install and service door closers, panic hardware, hinges, and other architectural door hardware.
• Troubleshoot mechanical lock and door hardware issues to determine appropriate repairs.
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of electronic locks and access control systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment to complete installations and repairs.
• Perform shop work, including assembling hardware, preparing customer orders, and organizing inventory.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Learn industry best practices through on-the-job training and mentorship.
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to learn a skilled trade and grow within the company.
